To be like Jesus - thoughtful and patient companions and friends, led by our Father's own nature within - this is our marriage prayer.
On Saturday, June 10, 2000 friends and family gathered together to witness the marriage of Miss Katherine Grace Hummel to Mr. Lehrend Pascual Reyes in Sarnia Ontario.
The wedding party included friends and family from all over the world - friends from school in Alberta and friends and family from Katherine's home in Sarnia. From left to right are: Tim Hummel (brother of the Bride), Lisa Hummel (sister-in-law and friend of the Bride), Katherine and Lehrend Reyes, Mario Ngabwe (friend of the Groom), Alicia Hagen (friend of the Bride), and Rich Hummel (brother of the Bride). In front are Jana Maclean (friend of the Bride) and Taylor McCready as the beautiful flowergirl.
Lehrend and Katherine met in Alberta where they both attended Prairie Bible College. Friends knew that they were a match made in heaven because Katherine was so giggly whenever she mentioned Lehrend's name. After they were engaged, they began to plan their wedding - a lot of work for anyone but for these two it was somewhat harder because they were planning a wedding that was 4 provinces away from where they were!! However, the wedding was gorgeous and was enjoyed by all!! They really did a tremendous job with everything despite the fact that they had the rings mixed up when they were at the alter!! Woops!
Eyes filled with tears of happiness as the bride came down the aisle looking absolutely angellic!! Being taken to the love with whom she'd be spending the rest of her life....he was waiting with one of the biggest smiles we had ever seen in our lives!!
Fortunately, Lehrends dad Mr. Bernie Reyes was able to make the long trip up from California to join in his son's wedding day! It just wouldn't have been the same without him...
A great bunch of friends from Prairie came down for the festivities - and that made Lehrend and Katherine's day even more special!! The best man, Mario was originally from Africa and sang a beautiful song that he had written for Lehrend and Katherine during the ceremony entitled "My Love" and Angela Byman, another friend from Prairie sang "When I Looked At You" and there wasn't a dry eye in the whole church.
Ahhhh...what a long day! The vows were exchanged, the rings placed on the finger, the reception was a success....and Lehrend and Katherine are off to Disneyland!!!!! Best of luck to both of you.....
